Kummara Ltd. is an Aboriginal Community Controlled organisation established in 1999 to provide support to vulnerable and at risk families. The organisation's objective is to support the long-term wellbeing and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.Kummara offers many programs and works in partnership with families for the achievement of independence and strengthening of the family's capabilities. We believe in the strengths of family and community and have developed a strong reputation for engaging and supporting our community.KEY DUTIES : The role of the Family Wellbeing Practitioner is to: Provide culturally sensitive and competent practice and resources to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Families.Maintain a case load of client families and deliver individual case work, groups and community projects.Identify family needs using specified tools and undertake screening and assessment of risks and needs of children and young people.Provide information, advice, referral and linkage to relevant services, as appropriate to the assessed level of need.Regularly attend and participate in case consultations.Maintain positive relationships with government, NGO and community organisations to ensure collaboration with other agencies to ensure integrated approaches.Maintain accurate records, report writing and data entry requirements in line with professional standards.QUALIFICATIONSTo be successful you will possess:Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or significant community experience in the fields related to this area of work e.g. Family Support, Child Protection, Human Services, Social Work, Psychology or youth work Demonstrated intermediate ability to use computer IT systems including MS Word and Excel.Queensland Driver's License.Ability to obtain positive notice in the Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and any other legislatively required personal history screening as required.Mandatory Positive Notice, Working with Children Suitability (Blue Card).Current valid Queensland drivers' licence.What We Offer:Kummara is a family friendly employer.
