The ideal candidate will possess advanced expertise in automation systems and must hold a valid Australian Electrical License. About the Role & Client
Our client is a leader in the industrial and manufacturing sector, specialising in cutting-edge automation solutions for various industries. As an Automation Engineer, you will:
Design, develop, and maintain automation systems, providing technical expertise to optimize production processes.
Lead automation projects, troubleshoot complex systems, and ensure compliance with safety and industry standards.
Focus on ensuring minimal downtime and efficiency of operations at their state-of-the-art terminal.
Update systems, run reports, and investigate and repair automated systems.
Resolve electrical and mechanical issues.
Perform testing and calibration for drivers, sensors, and actuators.
Use PLC programming tools – Siemens, Tia Portal, and Omron CX-One.
Work with other engineers and team members.
Perform software updates.
Understand communication systems (CAN bus, Profinet).
Have a sound understanding with surveying equipment – sensors.

Skills & Requirements
Minimum of 10 years of experience in automation engineering (essential).
Valid Australian Electrical License (essential).
Driving license & OHS white card (essential).
Proven experience in PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems (essential).
Strong knowledge of industrial networks, control systems, and instrumentation.
Expertise in troubleshooting, commissioning, and maintaining automation systems.
Excellent understanding of Australian electrical standards and safety regulations.
Project management experience with a focus on automation projects.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
