DescriptionSolution Designer – 56100 Permanent Gold Coast Part of the UNITE program How will I help?You will be part of the Business Technology team, which is accountable for the delivery and management of all technology services and solutions required by the Business divisions. This includes project delivery, application development & maintenance and technology thought leadership. You will be playing an important role in the development of Solution Designs and ensuring that they align with domain and project architectures. You will be responsible for the solution architecture or high level designs on projects contained within a domain. Your responsibilities will include: Provide cost, benefit, risk trade-off assessments for solution options to support the business decision-making. Collaborate with various stakeholders from business, project, architect, designers and engineers for requirement clarification, uncovering solutions / problem resolutions to achieve the desired outcome. Socialise the solution design through relevant governance forums to obtain endorsements. Investigate and recommend improvement opportunities within domain area to drive continuous improvement. Follow the solution delivery lifecycle best practices to conduct solution analysis, options assessments, design & document the solution architectures for the technical / business problems in line with Westpac standards and domain architecture. What do I need?The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in solution architecture, system design, and contemporary IT practices, along with solid knowledge across infrastructure, applications, data, integration, and digital domains. A background in end-to-end systems development, support, and maintenance is essential, as is the ability to quickly grasp new technologies, manage supplier relationships, and lead teams. Advanced problem-solving, troubleshooting, and consultative skills are required, as well as a firm understanding of financial services environments, applications, and products. While not essential, knowledge of digital and cloud technologies, architecture frameworks, and application life cycles would be advantageous. What’s it like to work there?
