About the Role
The ERA is seeking two curious and motivated individuals who are passionate and interested in energy markets, regulation, the operation of electricity systems and the application of economic principles to join our Energy Markets Division.
In these roles, the successful applicants will be involved in providing input for determining key pricing parameters, providing regulatory guidance to industries, conducting research into emerging issues such as changing technologies, government policy and market design, as well as investigating non-compliant behaviour in the market.
To be successful, you will have the ability to apply microeconomic theory and concepts, effectively write and communicate complex information to diverse stakeholders, build and enhance high-level strategic stakeholder relationships, negotiate and facilitate strategic discussions, as well as demonstrate project management skills.

Applicants are requested to submit a comprehensive CV and provide a cover letter of no more than three pages demonstrating with examples your knowledge, skills and ability to effectively undertake this role in accordance with the below position competencies.
1. Apply and analyse microeconomic theory and concepts to markets, regulation or policy issues;
2. Draft technical reports and communicate complex information to diverse stakeholders in a clear and effective manner;
3. Lead and manage complex projects with tight timeframes and competing priorities, demonstrating a high level of project management skills;
4. Ability to identify issues with potential to affect the strategic and operational environment.
In addition to the position competencies, applicants must have a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as economics, energy economics, econometrics, statistics, or public policy.
Applicants who are applying for both positions will be assessed based on the depth and demonstration of their knowledge, skills and level of experience. The panel will determine which role the applicant may be more suited to.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancies.
