About the role
As a Product Design Manager at Coles Group, you will inspire and guide a team of Product and Content Designers throughout the entire design process, from planning and research to execution. Your primary focus will be on fostering a collaborative environment to create exceptional digital experiences for Coles Supermarket customers, ensuring designs are compelling, consistent, and accessible. You will implement a customer-led approach, utilizing journey maps and personas to develop wireframes, prototypes, and conduct user testing for design validation.
Aligning your team's output with the Coles Customer Experience Strategy, Business Strategy, and Digital Strategy, you will work closely with business unit stakeholders and technology teams to create desirable, feasible, and viable experiences. By driving collaboration among product, engineering teams, and external design agencies, you will also partner with Group Product Designers for prioritization, roadmap planning, and capacity management. Additionally, you will support managers in enhancing the product design capabilities and toolkits within the broader Design and Digital Experience team.
About you and your skills
* Extensive experience designing for websites, apps and other touchpoints, with a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design. Ability to create rapid, low-fi through to high-fi prototypes and iterate.
* Experience communicating and rationalising design decisions alongside feasibility.
* Help foster and grow a great team and culture across the crews and wider design and digital experience team.
* Experience building design processes and toolkits for teams.
* An ability to work with multiple stakeholders to work towards an aligned strategy, process and ways of working to deliver value to our customers.
* Skilled in translating business process and customer behaviours/insights into problems to solve.
* Experience working in both a digital and non digital organisation with a strong customer-centric focus.
* Highly collaborative style, able to engage with a diverse range of stakeholder to meet targets.
* Previous experience in a Retail and Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) environment considered favourable.
* Demonstrated experience in Human Centred Design.
You'll also have
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a UX/Product Designer/Content Designer or similar, with extensive skills in wireframe design, UI creation, prototype development and user testing.
* 2+ years leading design teams (5+ people) in SaaS or B2C software
* 5+ years’ experience supporting omni channels for large, complex organisations requiring stakeholder management.
* 5+ years’ experience in project leadership or team mentoring.
