About the Role
Ballarat - Grampian's Health invites you to apply for the Clinical Nurse Educator – Enrolled Nurse Traineeship position within the Nursing & Midwifery Education Unit, working from Ballarat campus in a fixed term- part time capacity. The position works closely with our partnering RTO Federation University TAFE to support and delivery the Diploma of Nursing onsite at Grampians Health Ballarat. The position teaches directly into the Diploma of Nursing program as per Federation University requirements, coordinates trainees working rotation across residential aged care and subacute, liaising with NUMs in relation to trainee progress, directly liaising with the Clinical Support Nurses who are supporting the trainees in the workplace achieve their objectives and working closely with the Clinical Nurse Educator- EN trainee Wimmera team.
The role requires teaching trainees face to face and online units from the Diploma of Nursing using various teaching methods (at least 2 days per week), marking practical and written assessments, provide support to Clinical Support Nurses, liaising directly with NUMs, supporting students develop their learning and confidence, and assessing students against their standards of practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Teaching units within the Diploma of Nursing (as per Federation University curriculum) at least 2 days per week
* Report directly to the Early Career Lead.
* Liaise with the Clinical Nurse Educator- EN traineeship (Wimmera) & Clinical Support Nurses Wimmera in relation to planning and support
* Co-ordinate and manage the allocation of trainees work rotations
* Liaise frequently with NUMs in relation to EN trainees progress
* Collate and write reports using accurate performance criteria as required in relation to the trainee’s progression
* Compliance with Federation University TAFE processing and timelines as it relation to the Diploma of Nursing training package
Skills and Experience
* A tertiary qualification in nursing practice and registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency as a Registered Nurse
* Must hold a current updated Cert IV in TAE or Diploma of VET.
* An understanding of education frameworks including Best Practice Clinical Learning Environment
* Experience working within the healthcare setting, well-developed understanding of all clinical areas, disciplines and the ability to develop and maintain internal and external partnerships
* An understanding of administration and clinical workflows as they relate to the learners
* Understanding of Diploma of Nursing training package
* Well development IT skills, written and verbal skills
