Moe (South Street) Primary School is centrally located in the township of Moe, in the Latrobe Valley, Gippsland, Victoria. The school has a strong and proud reputation within the community and has a current enrolment of approximately 240 students. Over recent years, the school has received a significant investment in our buildings and facilities and offers modern learning spaces, including an indoor gymnasium, canteen, specialist classroom spaces and vast playground and oval spaces for students to socialize and play.
The school prides itself on building good relationships within the community and engaging students with a variety of academic, social and extracurricular programs. Our school is adjacent to the Moe Early Learning Centre, which consists of Kindergarten and Childcare services. This partnership allows us to provide excellent ongoing services for our families from birth through to high school. We are also active participants in the Moe Southside Community User group, allowing for the shared use of recreational facilities at Ted Summerton Reserve.

The Physical Education Teacher is part of the Specialist PLC and will be responsible for teaching Physical Education Classes across the school and organising school-based sporting events such as athletics and swimming carnivals, as well as supporting our involvement in district, division and regional sporting events.
Selection Criteria
1. SC1: Demonstrated high level of knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills. Demonstrated high level of ability to respond to student learning needs.
2. SC2: Demonstrated high level of ability to plan for and implement high impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluate the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth.
3. SC3: Demonstrated high level of ability to monitor and assess student learning. Demonstrated high level of ability to use data to inform teaching practice and to provide feedback on student learning growth and achievement to students and parents.
4. SC4: Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated high level of ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community to support student learning, agency, wellbeing and engagement.

Role
The classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges- range 1 and range 2. The primary focus of the classroom teacher is on the planning, preparation and teaching of programs to achieve specific student outcomes. The classroom teacher engages in critical reflection and inquiry in order to improve knowledge and skills to effectively engage students and improve their learning.
Responsibilities
The role of classroom teacher may include but is not limited to:
* Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students;
* Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or other curriculum program within the school;
* Undertaking other classroom teaching related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal;
* Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings; staff meetings; camps and excursions;
* Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.
Who May Apply
Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.
Conditions of Employment
This vacancy is to replace an employee on parental absence and is for a period of seven years or until the employee absent on leave returns to duty at the school.
VIT LANTITE
To be eligible for employment, transfer or promotion in the principal or teacher class a person must have provisional or full registration from the Victorian Institute of Teaching. In addition, from 3 August 2020, to be eligible for employment in the principal class or teacher class, a person who graduated from a Victorian Initial Teacher Education program after 1 July 2016, must demonstrate that they have passed the literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education (LANTITE) requirements.
