Your Opportunity
MAC River is a residential rehabilitation service for young people aged 13-18 who are experiencing chronic drug and alcohol issues. The service provides trauma informed and culturally safe support for three months in residence, followed by three months of aftercare in the community.
Acting as an appropriate role model to clients, you will be responsible for maintaining an orderly residence where young people learn to live with others and develop appropriate living skills, including budgeting, meal preparation, house cleaning, general self-care and personal hygiene routines.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
* Assist the team in the provision of practical support to client such as transport and independent living skills.
* Respond to urgent issues in a timely manner and engage with appropriate support services
* Contribute to the implementation of case plans and needs of each individual
* Undertake administrative tasks and work under regular supervision as instructed
* Provide ongoing flexible support for clients that meets their individual needs and situation
* Participate in or run group work under regular supervision
Requirements for Success
* A minimum Cert III or IV in Youth work ( Or working towards a relevant qualification)
* Alternatively, obtained previous experience in a relevant industry
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of team and provide support
* Professional approach to the role including maintaining professional boundaries.
* Demonstrated ability to undertake basic functional day-to-day support of clients.
* The ability to develop knowledge and learn new processes quickly.
* Ability to provide proof of Covid 19 vaccination
* A current NSW drivers licence
