Unity College is a P-12 Ecumenical College, in the Catholic and Uniting Church traditions, based in Caloundra. As part of Brisbane Catholic Education, our co-educational College aims to be a welcoming and supportive community of people who respect ourselves, each other and the environment. Our school seeks to provide a holistic education, striving for excellence through the teaching and demonstration of the Christian message.
Unity College is seeking a professional, forward-thinking Administration Officer to join our dynamic team. This is a combined role, working 12 hours per week within the Learning Support area and 22.5 hours per week within the main College administration team.
The successful applicant will provide secretarial and administrative support to the College’s Learning Support Team while also serving the needs of students and families in a busy school front office environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide secretarial support to the Learning Support Team, including communication with staff, students, and parents.
* Direct student and parent enquiries as appropriate.
* Maintain accurate data entry and correspondence.
* Perform general office administration duties, including:
o Sick bay and first aid assistance.
o Recording student absences.
o Managing Blue Card and volunteer registers.
o Switchboard operation and mail distribution.
o Relief staff sign-in/out procedures.
* Liaise professionally with students, parents, staff, and volunteers to uphold the College’s welcoming and inclusive culture.
Essential Criteria
* Understanding of, and support for, the ethos of Unity College as an ecumenical Catholic P-12 College.
* High levels of communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong teamwork capability and the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
* Proficiency in technology and administrative systems, including eMinerva or similar systems.
* Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and record keeping.
* A Senior First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
Desirable Criteria
* Previous experience in a school administration environment.
* Familiarity with BCE processes and systems.
