About the roleWe are seeking a part-time Earthworks & Basement Estimator to join our team at GudBuilt in Hallam, Victoria. This key role will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates for earthworks and basement construction projects, ensuring that our bids remain competitive while maintaining profitability. What you'll be doing Reviewing project plans, specifications, geotechnical reports and site conditions to prepare comprehensive estimates for bulk excavation, concrete works and basement retention packages utilising estimating softwareIdentifying potential cost savings opportunities and alternative construction methodsCollaborating with the project management team to ensure estimates align with project budgets and timelinesMaintaining detailed cost records and documentation to support the estimating processWhat we're looking for No experience required—training will be provided! A background in construction and estimating is preferred, but not essentialStrong understanding of construction materials, methods, and equipmentProficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports and other project documentationExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify cost-effective solutionsAbility to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlinesStrong attention to detail and excellent organizational skillsFamiliarity with construction estimating software (MudShark) is an assetProficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.What we offer At GudBuilt, we are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive work environment that fosters professional development and work-life balance.
