Description
About RFDS (Queensland Section)
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) (Queensland Section) is committed to providing excellence in and access to Primary Health Care (PHC) and Aeromedical services across Queensland.
PHC is one of our most vital services, accounting for up to two-thirds of our daily operations, as health promotion and management are essential to improved health outcomes for those living in the bush.

As a PHC Nurse, you can make a real impact in promoting good health, providing proactive care, and keeping people healthy. In some communities, RFDS is the sole healthcare provider, making your contributions vital.
The RFDS (Queensland Section) is currently in search of a devoted and empathetic PHC Nurse to become part of the RFDS Cairns team. This position involves delivering essential PHC services to communities in the far north including Cape York and Torres Strait.
In your support for rural and remote communities, your wide range of practice may involve:

Our positions are available on a maximum-term contract for 12 months, with a strong possibility of extending. Our part-time role is 0.75 FTE, which equates to 12 shifts per month. These shifts are scheduled from Monday to Friday and are during the day. You will enjoy a flexible roster that will allow sufficient time off to maintain your work-life balance.
