General Manager

As General Manager you’ll be responsible for the effective running of three radio stations within the local market to enable the achievement of sustained, profitable long-term growth.
Financial & Strategic
1. Develop and lead execution of the market POAP (“Plan on a Page”) aligned to company plans.
2. Manage market P&L to ensure revenue targets are achieved and the market is operating profitably.
3. It is expected the role will manage a client list, as well as support team members achieve revenue targets.
4. Support national advertising initiatives to increase national revenue share.
People
5. Provide strategic and day to day leadership of the market team, ensuring team goals are aligned to the POAP, the right people are in the right roles with the right skills, and performance is effectively managed.

7. Create a safe working environment for the team by actively understanding and implementing our WH&S system.
Leading in Local - Content & Promotions
8. Work with programming to ensure local content is maximised and programming is well executed.
9. Drive a strong promotional calendar to ensure that the station is connected with the community.
10. Be an active and integrated member of the business community via Business Chambers and other community focused boards & committees, including engagement with key business and government leaders, and politicians.
Processes and Systems
11. Lead adoption of ARN company processes and systems.
12. Ensure adherence to Commercial Radio Code of Practice.
About You:
13. Managing a small-medium sized business, ideally within a radio and / or media business OR leading a functional team (i.e. sales, programming).
14. Experience building business plans and growing a business.
15. Broad understanding of media landscape including radio, audio, digital, and other competing media in local markets.
16. Understanding of the Commercial Radio Code of Practice.
17. Financial numeracy & an understanding of Profit & Loss statements and other basic financial concepts.
18. Business degree desirable.
19. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
