Key Duties:
* Designing and implementing engaging and developmentally appropriate PE lessons that align with the Victorian Curriculum.
* Providing clear instruction and demonstration of movement skills, sports techniques, and fitness exercises.
* Teaching a range of topics related to physical education, including health and well-being, nutrition, mental health, and personal development.
* Conducting physical fitness assessments to evaluate students' strength, flexibility, endurance, and cardiovascular fitness levels.
* Ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment by implementing appropriate safety procedures and risk management strategies during physical activities and sports.
* Organizing and maintaining PE equipment, sports gear, and facilities to ensure they are safe, functional, and accessible for students.
* Integrating health education components into PE lessons to promote students' understanding of health-related topics such as nutrition, hygiene, mental health, and the benefits of physical activity.
* Assessing students' progress and achievement in PE through various forms of assessment, such as skill demonstrations, performance tasks, fitness tests, and written assignments.
Requirements:
* Must hold unrestricted working rights in Australia
* Current VIT registration is essential
* Proven experience teaching secondary PE in a school within Australia preferred
* Graduates are welcome to apply and will be supported
* Ability to provide two education-based references from the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable)
