Our Australian owned farm is continuously growing, therefore opening pathways for future opportunities!Our Lead Technicians report to the Site Leaders. This is a permanent full-time role located in Girgarre, Victoria.Your responsibilities will include:LeadershipSupervise a small team of Animal Care TechniciansPromote safety within the teamLead team talksComplete orientation and training of new Animal Care TechniciansLivestock CareTending to routine animal husbandryCleaning and maintaining accommodation pens, fittings and equipmentHandling and using chemicalsOperating machinery and equipmentCaring for the animals including providing feed and water stockCaring for sick or injured stock and maintain herd health status at an acceptable levelLivestock Analysis, Research & AdviceMaintain standards of qualityInspecting effectiveness of feed formulaeAssisting in controlled breeding to develop improved livestock strainsArranging the supply of drugs, vaccines and other chemicalsAdvise on aspects of production processes and farming techniquesTo be successful within this role you will require a minimum of two years’ experience within a similar role in Piggery operations as well as experience with supervising a small team.You will also have:Demonstrated experience in pig productionHigh level of understanding with Herd health factorsCompetent knowledge of APIQ & Welfare StandardsStrong communication skillsApplicationsTo apply for this opportunity please submit your resume and/or cover letter by clicking on the ‘Apply' button.Please note:Progression is subject to availability.
