The Role
The Youth Policy and Training Officer is an exciting and rewarding role that supports enterprise-wide initiatives. In this role:
1. You will develop, promote and implement enterprise-wide youth policy
2. You will engage with a broad range of stakeholders and have the opportunity to build strong working relationships
3. You will contribute to the development and management of the Youth Protection training courses (including a mandatory awareness course for ADF members)
4. You will provide subject matter advice and guidance to Defence personnel and respond to enquiries received from the YOUTHHQ portal
5. As part of a small team, you will gain a strong connection to Defence’s purpose and how your role contributes to Defence capability.
About our Team
6. The Youth Policy and Programs Directorate is the enterprise-wide lead and strategic centre for youth policy and Youth Protection training. The team, of around 30 positions, is geographically spread across Australia,
7. We develop policy and practices to support the safety of youth who engage with Defence and deliver work experience placements for students.
8. Team members are supported with opportunities for continuous learning and professional development, especially in youth and diversity related fields.
9. There are also a number of career paths within the team, including roles in the Defence Work Experience Program or in progressing diversity initiatives.
