About the Role
MDJV is one of three Major Framework Partners working together with our client to deliver a $1.6bn Capital Delivery Program to improve water and sewerage services for South Australians. In order to support this, we are looking for a Health and Safety Advisor with experience in Civil Construction to join the SA team. With operational activity across a number of projects, successful candidate will enjoy a diverse range of activities across several SA Water infrastructure projects.
This role plays a key part in providing health and safety leadership and support to Project personnel. If you’re looking to join a company that drives safety by encouraging people to think outside the box, influence change through great ideas and continuous improvement, this role is ideal for you.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Work to achieve project health and safety targets and building a strong health and safety culture
2. Ensure that project operations are carried out safely at all times.
3. Complete HSE investigations and develop reports on all incident investigations in line with client and the MJA Alliance timeframes.
4. Review site risk registers, with identified controls for each construction execution plan and facilitate CRAWs as necessary.
5. Provide ongoing HSE advice to Supervisors, Contractors and site workers to eliminate or minimize hazards.
6. Assist in reporting, investigating and implementing corrective and/or preventive actions resulting from identification of hazards, near miss incidents and work related illness/injury.
7. Identify areas for improvement, review and ensure compliance to Environmental Management procedures.
8. Carry out regular site safety and environmental inspections and/or audits as required
9. Carry out site inductions and conduct tool box meetings
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
10. Relevant tertiary qualifications in HSE
11. Experience within the Construction/Engineering sectors
12. Strong and Clear communication skills, written and verbal
13. Desire to champion a strong safety culture
