Key responsibilities include assisting with the compilation and analysing of statutory and regulatory accounts and review of junior staff’s work and reconciliations.Key responsibilities include:Tax ComplianceOversee compliance with evolving tax rules and the Group’s tax obligations. Working with the various stakeholders in the business that are obligated to conform with the Tax Legislation to ensure that knowledge of legislation changes is properly embedded into the Group and overall governance is in place for the Groups Tax affairs.Ownership over the Income Tax process. Prepare relevant schedules and communicate directly with external tax consultants over the year-end income tax calculation for statutory reporting and the income tax return preparation.Lead the annual FBT return process, through calculation of FBT benefits (including Salary packaging benefits), coordinate with Corporate Assets and review the Fleet Ledger, and liaise with external tax consultants for their queries around final FBT return.Manage and facilitate the Tax Compliance of the Group. This will include owning the Tax policies and frameworks and being the secretary for the Tax Committee. Maintain the company tax risk register and prepare quarterly reporting of the tax affairs for the Tax Committee and Audit Committee. Further, manage the internal tax control testing and report results to the Audit Committee.Supervision of monthly Tax Related Obligations such as GST claims and monthly income tax instalments, through review of Junior’s work and oversight of payment to the ATO.Fixed AssetsOwnership of the Fixed Asset Register for tax and accounting. Responsible for supervising the accountant on maintaining the register and reviewing the month end fixed asset reconciliations.Financial ControlProvide financial control oversight and segregation of duties over the Payables Process and review bank payments before releasing funds.Review balance sheet reconciliations and review journal entries posted by junior accountants over areas such as month end tax and intercompany eliminations.ReportingAssistance with regulatory Reporting and External Compliance to government bodies, where needed, such as ASIC and formal communication with ATO.Annual Financial ReportWork as part of the team to prepare the annual financial report.
