About You :
Candidate experience for the position includes:
* Five or more years of experience working in the data and analytics field, preferably with a related degree in the field;
* Demonstrated experience in the environment, sustainability, and climate change industry, preferably with a related degree in the field;
* Demonstrated experience in business consulting, preferably with a related degree in the field or with a demonstrated understanding of business law;
* Demonstrated experience with Python, R, SQL, or other analytics-related programming languages;
* Demonstrated experience with GIS software and data visualisation software packages;
* Demonstrated experience with information technology, including system implementation;
* Demonstrated experience in leading and managing an analytics team, and in training and supporting staff;
* Demonstrated experience with external stakeholder management;
* Demonstrated experience in working with government stakeholders and an understanding of Australian climate politics at both the state and federal level;
* Experience with ESG concepts; and
* Experience with non-scripting programming languages.
Position Summary :
Orizontas is hiring a data and analytics associate to lead the expansion of the company’s business into the research space, especially with environmental data and business analytics. The associate will have a range of roles in addition to the primary role of the company’s lead analyst in order to facilitate the growth of the company. The associate will start the company’s analytics team and can expect to spend at least 75% of their time working on data and analytics. However, the associate will also be expected to take on a range of additional roles including client relations, business development, stakeholder management, and report writing, and will be expected to have a strong background in environmental issues in order to fulfil the job requirements.
Key Requirements :
* Some knowledge and experience supporting teams in a corporate environment in a client relationship / account management role
* Proficient in Microsoft Suite
* Has client relationship engagement experience
* A sound understanding of current trends and consumer requirements

Job Responsibility :
The responsibilities for the position include:
* Building out the analytics systems the company will use for current and future clients;
* Setting up, writing, and maintaining company-wide analytics systems and infrastructure, and working closely with information technology consultants, if needed;
* Hiring, managing, and training any additional analytics associates or data analysts the company may hire;
* Utilising analytical methods to assess environmental policy issues, and preparing studies and written materials for clients based on those methods;
* Utilising analytical methods to perform business analysis;
* Working with partners to develop analysis and reporting tools, especially around ESG frameworks and business metrics;
* Creating maps and data visualisations as needed for company reports;
* Writing software and scripts as needed;
* Managing relationships with environmental and business stakeholders, including company clients and federal and state governments;
* Managing relationships with clients to assess their analytics needs and capacity.
* Building accounts and driving client engagement by ensuring they are receiving value from our services
* Dealing with queries, issues and the day to day needs of your clients as they arise as instructed by senior staff
* Providing invaluable support to senior staff to ultimately benefit the client
* Researching and understanding each client’s business to identify new opportunities
* In depth research and administration including report writing
