The Senior Cancer Care Pharmacist oversees the aseptic production and dispensing of chemotherapeutic agents, including investigational drugs in clinical trials, and provides expert clinical advice relating to the specialised areas of haematology and oncology to health care professionals, patients and their carers. Demonstrated high levels skills and experience as a clinical pharmacist; this includes advanced level knowledge of therapeutics in the areas of oncology and haematology, relevant legislation and ability to apply these skills in practice. Experience in aseptic manufacture with demonstrated understanding of current national standards and regulations for compounding injectable products. Staff management experience in a public hospital environment, demonstrating an ability to lead, promote teamwork and innovation, and manage and supervise clinical and support staff. Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of hospital staff and consumers. Demonstrated ability to meet multiple competing deadlines in a fast-paced, day-to-day clinical environment and effectively address unforeseen circumstances.
