The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. A new role awaits The Office of Agency Accessibility and Inclusion (OAAI) Branch is seeking a Director to lead the Disability Supports team.The Disability Supports team deliver workplace supports, adjustments, and services for staff with disability. The team provide an individualised service based on collaboration, research, and technical expertise. The team deliver education and capability support to managers and provide guidance into the current and future needs of our diverse workforce.This role supports the NDIA in providing a world leading service for staff with disability. This requires a continuous learning approach to effectively lead and coach others in individualised supports. This may include market research, identifying potential workplace barriers, resolving complex support matters, applying legislation, embedding quality assurance measures, as well as driving innovation and high performance within the Disability Supports team. Where you can add value The EL2 Director Disability Supports is accountable under broad direction to undertake work with a high level of complexity or sensitivity that delivers quality outcomes across the functions of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).You will have a critical role in improving the Agency's systems, processes, and supports for staff and promoting an inclusive workplace for our people. The position is an important team leadership position within the NDIA and will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across wide-ranging activities of substantial depth involving significant detail. Provide specialist advice relating to workplace adjustments and support for employees with disability. Contribute to the production of papers and reports for a range of internal and external stakeholders, including the Minister, SLT and Board. Build and maintain strong working partnerships with the Branch and Agency's executive leadership, contributing towards projects and employee outcomes at a national level. Provide strategic direction and establish priorities for the work area to meet operational requirements, ensuring that the teams have the necessary tools, equipment, and software for performing their roles. Highly developed interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role. You will have excellent communication skills to engage with a wide range of stakeholders and have a passion for inclusion with a commitment to adhering to industry leading practices. Knowledge or demonstrated ability to acquire knowledge of APS and HR legislation will be highly regarded.A history of leadership and responsibility of resolving complex/sensitive issues, whilst managing risks will be highly regarded. You will have a demonstrated ability to drive and enforce quality improvement and support desired outcomes by operationalising strategic goals.
