ABOUT GYMNASTICS NORTHERN TERRITORY
Gymnastics Northern Territory (GNT) is the governing body in the Northern Territory for the sport of gymnastics and is affiliated with the national governing body Gymnastics Australia (GA).
GA is recognised by the Australian Sports Commission as the governing body for all gymnastics in Australia and is affiliated to the world governing body the Federation Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG).
Gymnastics Australia and Gymnastics Northern Territory provide the program development, coach education, judge education, club development programs, competition structures, athlete development pathways and programs which provide access to gymnastics from the grassroots to the highest international levels.
GNT also facilitates a Remote Gymnastics Program by providing gymnastics coaching and equipment to remote indigenous communities throughout the Northern Territory. In 2024 Gymnastics NT facilitated over 30 remote community programs, more than 4000 NT youth were provided gymnastics coaching through our remote and school programs.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION -
The primary purpose of the position is to plan and facilitate recreational gymnastics programs that are engaging and fun at the grass roots level. The ability to cater to large groups with varied abilities is essential. Coaching with limited gymnastic equipment is required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Administration
Prepare lesson plans and complete program statistics and reports
Keep records of activities, outcomes and expenses
Program Management and Delivery
Coach recreational gymnastics programs. Groups will range in age from 5 years old up to 12 years old and will have varied skill levels
Complete all associated tasks with regards to group and behaviour management
Equipment set-up and pack down
Keep participants safe and follow all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures
Relationship Management
Establish and maintain positive and productive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including Northern Territory Government staff, Community Council staff, School staff and volunteers and community members
Safety
Ensure the safety of participants through compliance with Gymnastics Australia's standards and NT occupational health and safety standards
Apply First Aid where necessary and consistent with First Aid standards
Other
Undertake such courses, including online courses, and attend necessary meetings and conferences to ensure ongoing and upgraded capacity to deliver high quality programs
Maintain Gymnastics Australia Technical Membership
Undertake any other reasonable tasks requested by the Executive Director and/or Program Coordinator

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Proven experience in the effective management and delivery of a range of recreational gymnastics programs
Proven experience in relationship building with a range of organisations
Good customer service skills
Demonstrated skills in using the internet and Microsoft based software including Word and Excel
Good time management skills
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Current manual Drivers Licence
Minimum GA accredited Intermediate GFA Coach or equivalent
Current NT Ochre Card
Current police check
Current First Aid Qualification - Provide First Aid (HLTAID003)
WHAT WE OFFER:
Salary plus FT use of company car (4WD dual cab)
4 weeks of Annual leave.
All travel, accommodation & meals paid whilst out in community.
