Associate Hydrogeologist/Groundwater Engineer Leading employee-owned geotechnical consulting practice with over 100 staff within Australia working across a broad range of markets, including: Infrastructure Mining Energy Transportation Land Development Property & Buildings Utilities Industrial Developments They work in urban, rural and remote locations in onshore, near-shore/marine and offshore environments. Clients include: Principal Contractors Consultants Specialist Geotechnical Contractors Mining and Energy Companies Private Owners/Developers Government Agencies Insurers Legal Firms Responsibilities Develop and manage fieldwork programs to install groundwater monitoring wells, measure groundwater levels, carry out infiltration and hydraulic conductivity tests and collect Acid Sulfate Soils (ASS) and groundwater samples. Carry out groundwater seepage and dewatering analysis in 2D and 3D using computer modelling software. Prepare design groundwater level assessments based on collected data and historical monitoring information and review work produced by others. Analyse field data including groundwater level measurements, infiltration data, hydraulic conductivity tests to derive design parameters and groundwater quality laboratory tests. Prepare dewatering management plans and ASS management plans for civil engineering construction works. Prepare high quality technical reports. Build client relationships through regular contact with existing and new clients. Provide technical leadership to project teams and junior staff, and safety leadership in identifying and alleviating/eliminating high priority safety hazards. Participate in training activities, mentoring and transferring knowledge to junior geotechnical engineers. Prepare proposals including determining methodology and compilation of cost estimations. Perform desk, field and laboratory studies for groundwater and dewatering investigations relating primarily to civil engineering construction work. Manage site investigation of small to large scale engineering projects including hydrogeological assessment/testing. Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, a related Science or equivalent as a minimum with primary skills and experience in one or more of the following: Geotechnical Engineering Hydrogeology Groundwater Engineering ideally related to the civil construction and infrastructure industry.
