The Welding Maintenance Controller vacancy offers suitably qualified internal and external candidates an outstanding opportunity for career progression. This position is located at our Westmore Orchard in the Boundary Bend region in VIC. The salary range is $80,000 - $90,000 plus superannuation.
The Maintenance Controller role supports the Orchard Manager in ensuring the orchard and harvest equipment is available at all times for the orchard operation. This includes the servicing, maintenance, and repair of equipment per servicing and operational requirements.
Reporting to the Orchard Manager you will be responsible for:
Welding Maintenance & Repairs
1. Welding and Fabrication
2. Perform high-quality welding tasks, including MIG, TIG, and arc welding, to repair and fabricate orchard equipment.
3. Design and fabricate custom parts and tools as needed to improve equipment functionality and efficiency.
4. Inspect and test welds to ensure they meet industry standards and specifications.
5. Perform structural repair on harvest equipment.
Supplier Management
1. Works are completed within the decided timeline, in line with the planned maintenance program.
2. Warehousing stocks are delivered in accordance with maintenance schedules.
3. Overall company requirements and budgets are adhered to.
Leadership
1. Improve performance and productivity by participating in Performance and Development reviews.
2. Assist in the development of recording budgets.
3. Participate in ongoing professional development, as required.
Productivity
1. Continually driving efficiency through maintenance schedules, lower consumption costs, and reduced management costs across farms.
2. Developing processes to ensure improved equipment reliability.
To be considered for an interview you will have experience in the horticultural or almond sector, specifically in orchard equipment and/or almond harvest equipment repairs and maintenance. Previous positions held in a workshop and/or workshop management are essential, and a current car and HR truck licence is required.
You will have proficiency in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, arc welding), as well as having a Welding or metal fabrication trade or Certification as a First Class Welder. At least two (2) years of relevant work experience is required.
