We have four residential aged care facilities across Sydney—in Kogarah, Lakemba, Miranda, and Randwick—as well as home care and community care services across NSW and the ACT, along with Independent Living Units.
About the Role:
Our Compliance and Assurance Managers are responsible for continuously testing service compliance and adherence to the St Basil’s prescribed systems, processes and legislation. We identify and mitigate risks to consumers, risk to service reputation and compliance risk.
As a Compliance and Assurance Manager you will work closely with our key stakeholders to meet the highest governance and quality standards by managing our Policy Framework, leading clinical governance across all services, developing quality and compliance strategies and ensuring compliance with care system quality standards and auditing practices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Responsible for investigating incidents, assisting our homes in completing open disclosure process along with investigating and responding to external and internal complaints
* Investigate serious incidents and recommending actions to rectify and mitigate recurrence of incidents
* Manage internal and external reviews and audits and lead the implementation of audit recommendations and actions
* Guide the process of clinical practice improvement to ensure all services are delivered consistently and to a high standard
* Inform best practice in clinical service delivery and consultancy strategy to support the organisation in maintaining market-leading standards in service delivery
* Person centred values being upheld and Aged Care Quality and Safety Standards being met.
* All care services are compliant with aged care standards and legislation
* Risks are continuously monitored, reviewed, assessed and corrective actions for incidents successfully minimise any potential hard
* All facilities pass accreditation
* Support the wider Quality and Compliance Team in leading clinical governance across the organisation and support Facility Managers to ensure all services meet governance requirements so that clients receive the appropriate level of care, are safe and receive and excellent level of service
* Undertake evaluation and auditing activities relevant to SIRS and serious incidents
* Activity participate in Continuous Quality Improvement Practices and accreditation activities in order to establish an environment which facilitates and promotes a culture of continuous improvement
* Build, continuously improve and provide oversight and advice on organisational risk, compliance management on the audit framework
Skills and experience:
* I am qualified. I hold a Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA. I have extensive experience in risk and compliance (5+ years) preferably in aged care environment
* I have a proven track record in understanding and managing regulatory change
* I have experience and competence in the use of data to evaluate care outcomes.
* I have significant experience in Clinical Governance and compliance.
* I have demonstrated ability to identify and evaluate the business requirements for quality and care management systems to ensure they are fit for purpose in the delivery of excellence in care service. I demonstrate leadership skills focused on mentoring and coaching others to lead governance excellence and quality management across the organisation.
* I demonstrate ability to build teams and teamwork across functions.
* I have the ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships.
* I am familiar with Aged Care. I have excellent knowledge of the governing legislation of the industry and the Standards that need to be met
