Sport and Recreation supports and encourages participation and success in sport and active recreation through delivery of grant funding for sport and active recreation borganisations and clubs, infrastructure and participation programs, the operation of precincts and venues, and through engaging and partnering with the active industry across Queensland. Through this investment we want to improve the health and wellbeing of all Queenslanders by assisting them to be more active. Activate Queensland 2019-2029 is the Queensland Government's 10-year strategy to further enrich the Queensland way of life, harnessing the pride of our great sporting traditions, embracing our iconic natural environment and building on our strong community foundations to deliver better health and wellbeing outcomes, especially for those most vulnerable. Through Accelerate 2022-2025, the second action plan under Activate Queensland, the department will provide targeted and deliberate action and investment to enrich the Queensland way of life through physical activity, driving increased participation and pathway opportunities while positioning the state for success in the lead up to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Service Delivery's primary function is to directly connect the agency with our clients and key stakeholders, playing a pivotal role in fostering healthy and connected communities. Through informed advice, effective engagement, and efficient delivery of funding programs, we aim to empower individuals and communities to actively participate in sports and recreational activities, regardless of socio-economic factors or geographic location. NOTE: The role is required to undertake travel to city, regional and remote locations including overnight stays and will require occasional travel to remote locations including overnight stays. Some communities have alcohol management plans and restrictions in place. Field work may be subject to travelling over rough and flooded terrain and severe weather conditions, with thunderstorms, monsoon rains and extreme heat. The position may be required to work out of business hours, including weekends. You will need to provide a copy of your blue card, which will be validated prior to engagement.
