You will develop a team and lead and manage MRQ Fleet Assets including fleet operations, fleet strategy and mechanical services, and provide fit for purpose fleet assets to MRQ. Through the full lifecycle management and best practice approach to fleet management, you will ensure marine and mobile assets and equipment are managed strategically and maintained to meet the complex environment in which they are deployed and utilised to meet operational and organisational objectives, value for money to the public and the environment.
You will be responsible for providing leadership and direction through all functions of Fleet Assets and Equipment, including managing financial, human and physical resources, strategic planning and program management, procurement support, reporting and maintenance services, and oversight of contractor and supplier capabilities across the State.

Your Key Accountabilities:
The core capability requirements for this role are:
* Provide expert technical and strategic advice, direction and policy recommendations to key stakeholders on delivery of operational assets and capability management, including marine, vehicles, and mobile plant.
* Manage, capture and maintain relevant and reliable fixed and portable asset related information and whole-of-life costs to facilitate decision making, operational assets planning and delivery of desired service levels.
* Undertake research, analyse trends and develop data analytics to identify business improvement opportunities and to implement operational asset and capability management strategies.
* Manage, prepare and review complex reports, submissions and briefings including Asset Management Plans, CRBC submissions and Forward Procurement Plans to senior executive and committees relating to operational assets and capability.
* Co-ordinate, develop and maintain effective asset and capability management accountability and direction across the Service through strong and genuine engagement of internal and external clients and relevant stakeholders.
* Lead, manage and guide the Fleet team, business units, and volunteer units to complete asset related processes including annual stocktake, assets revaluations, useful life reviews, maintenance and validations of assets register etc.
* Foster a safe, equitable, and constructive work environment for staff, which encourages commitment, skills development, professional growth and continuous improvement.
Role Requirements:
Mandatory
* Demonstrated maritime asset management experience.
* Possession of Open ‘C' Class Queensland Drivers License.
Qualification
* Maritime qualifications suited to the role requirements.
* AMSA maritime qualification are highly desirable.
* Demonstrated experience or qualification in Queensland Government Procurement or Financial Management and Accounting will be highly regarded.
Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience
* Demonstrated experience or understanding in strategic planning and asset management will be highly regarded.
* Strong knowledge and understanding of vessel design, construction including marine engines will be highly regarded.

* Ability to travel intra-state in alignment with service requirements.
