Experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner – Lismore and surrounds
An opportunity is available for an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our growing Behaviour Support team.
The role involves the provision of capacity building person-centered behaviour support services to a varied and complex caseload. Duties include skill development activities, assessment, design and delivery of interventions as well as monitoring and evaluating the implementation of positive BSPs in line with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (Restrictive Practices and Behaviour Support) Rules 2018. There are opportunities to deliver psychological assessment, counselling and non-traditional therapeutic services for suitably qualified applicants.

You will be able to meet the following selection criteria:
Qualifications
1. Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy Education Social Work or a related discipline or significant relevant professional experience.
2. Registration with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission as a behaviour support practitioner or capacity and willingness to complete registration process prior to commencement.
3. Registration with APHRA or a similar professional body highly regarded.
Professional skills and experience
1. Strong written communication, participant/stakeholder engagement and mediation skills.
2. Sound knowledge of the Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework for NDIS providers and behaviour support practitioners.
3. Previous experience in working with individuals, families or groups as a behaviour support practitioner or similar.
4. Demonstrated experience in assessing and planning intervention for participants who exhibit behaviours of concern including high-risk behaviours.
5. Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
6. Demonstrated experience in implementing participant–centred / family-centred interventions.
7. Experience working in a culturally sensitive manner with participants from diverse cultural backgrounds.
8. Current Driver License and access to a reliable vehicle.
9. Ability to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance prior to your commencement.

1. Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to problem-solve and use initiative.
2. Strong communication skills and demonstrated capacity to collaborate as part of a diverse team.
3. Ability to work autonomously and utilise time effectively.
