PJ Group Consulting is looking for a Project Engineer to support the procurement of Commercial Vessel's for our client. The ideal candidate will have some demonstrated experience with maritime engineering projects, complex maritime procurement or acquisition, and have, or be able to achieve, a security clearance (i.e. must be Australian resident).The role covers the end-to-end acquisition cycle, including requirements development, tender evaluation, review and management of deliverables, test and trials, acceptance into service, management of a diverse panel of suppliers, and ongoing improvements to systems and processes.Vessels being procured include a variety of Maritime Assets, including fitted equipment, autonomous vehicles (AUV and AAV), small hull vessels such as tugs, and potentially large hull vessels.Answering to the Engineering Manager, the Project Engineer will primarily provide engineering advice and support to all procurements. In addition, the Project Engineer will, as required, provide support to broader continuous improvement initiatives.Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Act as the primary point of contact for the team for day-to-day engineering supportManage development of Statements of RequirementsManage technical risks for procurementsManage requirements traceability, and configuration baselines of the procurementsManage procurement technical dataConduct technical evaluations of procurementsDrafting of technical documentsIt would be nice to explain a typical day in this role, but there is no such thing. The role is dynamic, and ideally suited to an individual with a background in maritime engineering and complex acquisition, and most importantly a desire to learn, grow, and work within a team.This role is office-based, and you'll be provided with a workstation.
