Task & Responsibilities The Motor Mechanic (General) will be responsible for repairing, maintaining and testingmotor vehicle and other internal combustion engines and related mechanical components.The person selected will be responsible for undertaking the below given duties. Finding and fixing mechanical and electrical faults in vehicles. Detecting and diagnosing faults in engines and engine components. Checking engine and its parts. General log book servicing of cars and 4WD vehicles. Dismantle and reassemble engines to factory specifications. Repair vehicles and parts based on identified issues. Taking engine parts apart to fix them and assemble back in engines. Repairing and maintaining of petrol and diesel engines and automatic transmissions for light weight vehicles. Perform routine vehicle servicing and maintenance (e.g. oil changes, battery replacement etc) Schedule checking and maintenance of vehicles including regular and annual service, oil check, tyre check, engine tune up, wheel balancing and wheel alignment. Mechanical repairs and diagnostic fault-finding. Maintaining equipment and facilities to ensure functional longevity and workplace safety. Dismantle and reassemble engines to factory specifications and reassemble them upon repair. Test drive vehicles after repairs to ensure soundness and determine whether there are further issues. Use computer diagnostic equipment and software to identify issues. Wheel alignment, repair and installing tyres. Pre purchase vehical inspections and inspect vehicles and parts to identify issues. Maintaining records and documentation. Communicating with customers to understand issues, concerns and providing work estimates. Qualification & Experience Full automotive mechanic qualification with Cert III or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of experience working on a variety of makes and models of vehicles. Current driver's license or International driver's license. Understanding and adherence of occupational health and safety guidelines and workplace safety practices. Professional presentation and strong customer-focused mindset. Ability to work independently and in a team as well as using initiative. Australian citizens and PR will be preferred; however temporary residents with work rights are also encourage to apply.
