Mental Health Clinician - Short Term Assessment and Response Team Full Time – Part Time (0.8 FTE) considered Mental Health Services, forming part of Mildura Base Hospital, offers a range of inpatient and community-based services for people with mental illness in the Northern Mallee Region. The Role: The Short-term assessment and response team (START) is a multidisciplinary team providing assessment, suicide risk response and short-term community follow up for its consumers who are presenting with acute signs of mental illness and / or present with significant risks to themselves or others. The START team works closely with the Hospital's Emergency Department, Victorian Police and other emergency services in providing quality consumer focused care.
Duties for this role include undertaking primary consultation services including triage, assessments, risk and safety planning and short term therapeutic intervention in conjunction with consumers, their families/ supports and other professionals as required.
The positions are classified as an RN3, SW2, OT2 or Psych2 under the Victorian Public Mental Health Services Enterprise Agreement.
About you: To be successful in this role you will have a relevant degree in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology or Occupational Therapy. We encourage Provisional Psychologists to apply as we have a Board Approved Clinical Psychology Supervisor available onsite.
Candidates will also have demonstrated experience, skill and / or knowledge in the provision of direct clinical care to people who have experienced mental illness along with a working knowledge of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022. A current driver's licence is essential.
