Be part of a small and dynamic team that plays an integral role in the planning, coordination and delivery of councillor business, corporate information and reporting. This role is key to ensuring Council meets its statutory obligations whilst driving transparency and best practices in governance.Key responsibilities in this role include:Providing administrative support to ensure good governance to Council.Support the planning and coordination of Council meetings and briefing sessions, including management of agenda and minutes, catering, taking minutes, setup, and monitoring the progress of council resolutions.Monitor reports and briefings ready for Executive and CEO approval.Manage registers and provide advice on conflicts of interest, gifts and biannual returns to staff and councillors.Provide templates, processes and support to staff to achieve a consistent approach to Council report writing standards and processes.Assist in the development and review of policy, procedures and guidelines relevant to Governance and Integrity Department.Assist the Coordinator Governance with the Council election process and the council transition program.ABOUT YOUTo be successful, you have:Previous experience in a similar administrative role and/or business administration (or equivalent) qualifications.A highly developed knowledge and understanding of governance, corporate planning and reporting.Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with exceptional attention to detail: including the ability to provide advice on a range of issues, facilitate workshops for varied audiences, review and prepare written guidelines, policy, procedures, reports, correspondence and briefs.High level of self-motivation, time management, organisational skills and the ability to work with changing priorities in a changing environment within strict timeframes.The ability to establish relationships and communicate effectively with key stakeholders including staff across all levels of the organisation, Councillors and members of the public.WHY YOU'LL LOVE WORKING WITH US!Work-life balance with flexible working arrangementsRostered Days Off offered for full-time rolesOngoing training and professional development opportunitiesSouth Gippsland is an organisation that is committed to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
