About the role
The Public Transport Authority (PTA) is seeking a skilled and proactive Secure Application Developer to join our team. In this key role, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating security vulnerabilities in software applications. Working closely with development teams, you will integrate security practices throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring that all applications are secure and compliant with relevant standards and regulations. This position will also serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on application security, providing guidance and recommendations during development phases.
You will be required to track and address security issues, automate security scans, and ensure the implementation of secure coding practices. You will also play a pivotal role in integrating security tools into the DevOps pipeline, enhancing operational effectiveness and contributing to the overall security posture of the PTA’s technology systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who is passionate about application security and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
About You!
To excel in this role, you should possess:
* Significant progress toward or possession of a qualification in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, with considerable experience in cybersecurity, secure code review, and identifying/remediating common web application vulnerabilities such as OWASP Top 10.
* Strong communication skills (written, oral, and interpersonal) with the ability to establish rapport and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders. Proven experience in customer-focused support and development teams.
* Highly developed ability to analyse data, assess information, and provide reports with actionable insights.
* Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and meet targets and deadlines.

There is one permanent full-time opportunity available for an immediate start. Applicants assessed as suitable through this process may be used to fill similar vacancies both fixed term and permanent that may arise within the next 12 months.
