A unique opportunity exists for a highly motivated Registered Nurse with exceptional leadership and clinical skills to join the management team at a private day surgery on the Gold Coast. ABOUT THE ROLE The position is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the ward/unit to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, budget, and business direction of the hospital. You will provide operational direction for the unit/ward to ensure efficient and effective management of the area and coordinate the delivery of nursing care that is evidence-based. In addition, you will be accountable for the effective management of human, financial, and material resources and ensure customer service is maintained at optimal levels. You will undertake direct patient care as required providing guidance and support to less experienced members of the nursing team. REQUIREMENTS
1. Current Registration with AHPRA;
2. Working with Children check (if relevant);
3. Previous experience at NUM level or equivalent;
4. Experience in the Acute setting;
5. Degree in the relevant specialty area;
6. Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
8. A strong commitment to developing in a management role;
9. A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer-focused care;
10. A high degree of computer literacy including MS Office and various databases;
11. Ability to work cohesively within a team environment;
12. Proven time management and prioritisation skills;
13. Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in labour management;
14. Demonstrated HR management experience;
15. A management degree or working towards (desirable).

The hospital, located in New South Wales, next to the border with Queensland, offers a range of services, including gastroenterology, ophthalmology, and urology. The surgery incorporates three theatres with two procedure rooms, a 17-bay recovery area, and a 23-chair discharge lounge.
