The Opportunity
As the Manager Safety Education, you will lead our dynamic Safety Education Team, ensuring the seamless delivery of our programs and initiatives. Your role will be pivotal in shaping the future of maritime safety education in Western Australia.
In this role, you will provide strategic leadership and direction to the Safety Education Team, ensuring that day-to-day operations are delivered in a timely, efficient, and effective manner. You will contribute to the Department’s strategic and business planning, initiating projects to achieve business goals. Managing human, financial, and physical resources associated with the Safety Education Team will be a key part of your responsibilities.
You will oversee the creation, production, and distribution of Marine Safety education publications, promotional material, and presentations. Additionally, you will manage the development and evaluation of Marine Safety Education campaigns, ensuring they are impactful and effective. Your role will also involve providing high-level advisory services to internal and external stakeholders on maritime safety education matters.
Establishing and maintaining positive, effective, and collaborative communication relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders will be crucial. You will ensure a cohesive approach is provided with respect to the provision of Maritime Safety Education services across the Department and the boating community. Staying abreast of the latest maritime safety trends, issues, and legislation will be essential to your success in this role.
Furthermore, you will represent the Department at various State and National committees and forums, ensuring that our voice is heard, and our interests are represented. You will also be involved in the consultation and development of strategic projects that involve components of safety education.

There is currently 1 fixed term position available for a period of 5 months ending 26 September 2025, with the possibility of extension(s) or permanency.
