Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) are currently recruiting for an experienced Network Safety Officer to join the team. As a MTM Network Safety Officer, your key focus will be but not limited to:Interfacing with internal and external stakeholder groups to review & develop Safety Management Systems (SMS) documentation.Provide corporate governance through audits and inspections across all elements of the SMS relating primarily to rail safety requirements.Undertake quality assessments and reviews of investigations in relation to Rail Safety.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide assistance with the management of and oversight of the application of rail safety policies, rules, procedures, practices, and standards applicable to the MTM network.Produce and distribute SW and SWP circulars.Provide interpretation on the application of the rules and procedures where authorised.Appraise requirements and make recommendations with respect to work methods and techniques.Edit and issue the Weekly Operational Notice publication on behalf of MTM, V/Line & ARTC.Ensure compliance policies and measures are in place to avoid non-compliance issues to be managed.Assist with the implementation of training programs to support knowledge management in SER disciplines.Facilitate and participate in risk assessments and the performance of safety audits in conjunction with internal and external organisations.Represent MTM at external emergency response exercises and attend MTM internal emergency management tabletop exercises.Provide SME advice during testing and commissioning activities.About You: (Key Selection Criteria)Qualified in Safeworking systems applicable to the MTM network i.e., Qualified Automatic Train Control (ATC), Automatic Block Signalling (ABS), Communication Based Train Control (CTBC).Extensive Signalling or Train Control experience.Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act (2004), inclusive of advanced working knowledge of Safety (OH&S) management systems.Knowledge of Rail Safety National Law & Regulations 2012.Sound knowledge of the PTC 1994 Book of Rule and Operating Procedures and associated procedures.Ability to analyse situations & make well-judged Rail Safety decisions in a dynamic operational environment.Ability to analyse and interpret data and write and present reports, to complete complex tasks.Testing and Commissioning Experience.This is a fantastic opportunity to build on the career you've developed to date and take it to the next level by making a tangible impact that matters.
