About the Role: As the Senior Originator/Commercial Manager, you will assist or be responsible for leading the negotiation of both long term and short term commercial agreements for gas supply (including LNG), transportation and storage products and services. These transactions will align with AGL’s wholesale portfolio value and risk management objectives and contribute to our Climate Transition Action Plan, customer requirements and deliver long term value to shareholders. Origination combines a broad range of skills across business development, negotiation, commercial, project development, corporate finance and critical analysis of market dynamics. Transactions will involve buying and selling of commodities through both physical and derivative agreements. What you’ll be doing: Lead complex and bespoke negotiations, document transactions and implementation of commercial arrangements across the sale, supply, transport and LNG import (if required) Developing strategies to meet AGL’s long term objectives for both domestic supply and LNG import options Originating transactions to manage the physical gas portfolio over the short to long term Managing relationships with major gas producers, haulage / storage operators and market operators Providing guidance to other teams within Integrated Energy, Trading and Treasury Risk, Corporate Development and Finance in relation to origination activities, including influencing and collaborating across business units Develop business cases to support transactions with the support of the analytical team Managing supply agreements existing in the portfolio, including establishing processes to enforce contract specifications and resolve conflict where breaches or non-compliance occur. Utilise your working knowledge of the industry and provide assessments of future gas supply options and their benefit to the gas portfolio Support may be required occasionally with power and carbon transactions. About You: You will ideally have an existing network of strong relationships and an understanding of the gas markets and contracting arrangements through your experience in the commercial gas sector. Alternatively experience in project development, LNG, commodity markets, power generation and carbon will be considered.
