About The Job
Joining our Food & Water Sales Division, you’ll spend most of your time working with and selling solutions to our existing customer base.
Our products are at work in many industries around the world: heating, cooling, separating and transporting all kinds of our customers’ products, including oil, water, chemicals, beverages, foodstuff, starch and pharmaceuticals. That’s an incredible volume and diversity of technology.
As a Sales Manager, you’ll use available commercial data such as CRM and insights, plus your technical knowledge of Alfa Laval products and their market applications, to make recommendations that overcome customer challenges and provide the best solutions.
Key Tasks
1. Develop highly profitable quotes reflecting the customer needs stressing the unique selling points and follow up, and to get a hit-rate
2. Use the CRM tool and other tools in a consistent and qualitative way, to support the sales process and take decisions
3. Be active mentor of the Field Sales Engineer in the sales process
4. Knowledge of the Wastewater industry, tendering process and contracts
5. Sales responsibility of decanters, other separation, and relevant products for wastewater applications across Australia to consultants, contractors and end customers
6. Be a team player who can work effectively across different functions to support the sales and tendering process
7. Responsible for reviewing and executing contracts according to Alfa Laval standards
8. Liaising with our global Business Unit Decanters to support customers
9. Working together with Service Operations & Projects team to offer customers support during the execution phase and product lifecycle
About You
Above all, you’re curious. You ask questions and you seek out the solutions.
Ideally, you’ll also have an engineering background, having gained your experience in a Wastewater or mechanical environment, with of a focus on decanters, other separation and relevent products. However, we will also consider applications from candidates with good market or application experience.
More important is the engineering mindset essential to identifying the challenges, needs and solutions, as well as excellent people and relationship-buildings skills. And while experience of analysing data would be an advantage, your manager can actively support you to grow your skills and knowledge in this area.
To be successful here as a Sales Manager, you’ll also be driven to deliver results. That includes having positive energy, clear customer focus, an aptitude for learning and strong networking skills.
