We’re on the lookout for a Part- Time Youth Peer Worker to join our awesome team at headspace Queanbeyan, located on Ngunawal and Ngambri country. This is a fixed term position and you’ll be working directly with young people (aged 12-25), helping them navigate the sometimes-tricky world of mental health services. You’ll bring your own lived experience to support them on their recovery path while working with other superstars to create positive change.
What We're Looking For:
* Lived Experience: You’ve walked the mental health journey yourself and want to share your story to help others.
* Empathy: You’re passionate about working with young people and their families to make a positive impact.
* Understanding & Knowledge: You know what it takes to navigate mental health services—or you’re excited to learn how you can support others in doing so.
* Cultural Connection: You’re a First Nations person who understands the importance of culture, community, and connection in mental health and recovery.
* Skills/Qualifications: If you have a Cert IV in Mental Health Peer Work (or similar), awesome! But we’re also open to anyone with the passion and lived experience to step into this role.
