Mining - Operations (Mining, Resources & Energy) Full time Please note the closing date for this position is Tuesday, 12 November 2024.About the role: The Contracts team is currently seeking a Senior Officer Contracts to join them on a Monday to Friday roster based at our West Perth office.Reporting into the Principal Contracts (Operations), you will be responsible for providing high-quality contracts and commercial support services to the business by effectively tendering, negotiating, and administrating assigned contracts in accordance with Atlas policies and internal stakeholder requirements.The Senior Officer Contracts is responsible for the management of contractual outcomes and processes within their allocated portfolio, as required to ensure that Atlas' contracts deliver value for money, protect Atlas' interests and enable Atlas to meet its business objectives.The initial portfolio for this role will include a mining services contract (drill, blast, load and haul), as well as contracts as required by Atlas' Maintenance and Drilling teams.Duties: Providing commercial advice and support to Atlas stakeholders to assist in the monitoring and enforcement of contract requirements, and resolution of issues as they arise.Ensuring timely and effective preparation and evaluation of tenders, negotiations with tenderers, making approval recommendations to internal customers and management, preparation of contract documentation, general commercial administration and contract management and close out of contracts.Ensuring contract compliance to Contracts & Procurement Management System (CPMS) and quality while identifying improvement opportunities and reporting contracts status to direct manager.Monitoring contractor performance and identifying improvement opportunities or cost savings.Attend and chair regular Contract performance review meetings.Assist with the financial analysis and modelling of contracts and variations.Assessing, interrogating and verifying that contractor claims and invoices comply with contract terms.Exercise good judgements based on accumulated information and understanding of contractual/legal principles to resolve contractual matters and disputes or issues raised by contractors. Skills and Experience: 5-10 years' experience in medium value and complexity contract development and management, with exposure to the resource industry.Strong understanding of contracts and commercial/legal principles.Strong communication (both written and verbal), influencing and negotiation skills.Ability to engage, develop relationships and drive favorable outcomes with contractors, suppliers and stakeholders at all levels.Significant organisational and teamwork skills with an ability to coordinate multiple tasks and personnel, while effectively and efficiently managing his/her own output.Ability to solve problems, work without supervision and make sound independent decisions working within the delegation of authority framework.Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills, sound business sense, advanced documentation skills with high attention to detail.Track record of successfully delivering on team and personal KPIs.An academic qualification in contracts and procurement, commerce, law, supply chain management or mining related discipline is preferred, but not essential.
