Six Degrees are partnering exclusively with a leading FMCG client in recruiting the Production Manager role for their operations in the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. An exciting opportunity to play a lead role in driving manufacturing onsite.
Manage all aspects of the production function to achieve output, quality and cost targets whilst maintaining a safe and harmonious work environment with a continuous improvement mindset.
As a member of the Operations Leadership Team, you will be involved in development and execution of the strategic direction of the operations department. Play the lead role within manufacturing team with regards to upskilling, coaching and training for the team.
Primary Responsibilities
Production Management
1. Manage all areas of plant production to deliver products that meet the quality, cost, volume and service criteria.
2. Facilitate daily performance meetings with operations team stakeholders
3. Work with the planning team to optimise schedule to ensure efficiency whilst meeting customer requirements.
4. Ensure shift supervisors lead their shifts appropriately and meet KPIs.
5. Develop and implement plans to ensure accurate level volume of production for each product produced.
Safety
6. Lead by example, adhering to Remedy OH&S Policy, the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 and safe work procedures.
Quality
7. Ensure standard work and process documents are being followed and products are produced to the agreed quality standards.
Leadership:
8. Add capability to the production team influencing and providing direction across operations and manufacturing.
What will you need to be successful?
9. 4+ years’ experience in similar production management roles in Food manufacturing or related industries.
10. Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or related discipline.
11. Adaptable leadership style, hands on when it is required. Can handle pressure & has the ability to multi-task.
12. Trained in Continuous Improvement processes (i.e Lean), with the ability to improve processes within a manufacturing environment.
