DescriptionThe NEST Program is a 6-week nutrition and food literacy program that teaches people to cook and eat healthy on a budget. The primary role of the QLD Program Lead is to ensure that the NEST (Nutrition Education Skills Training) program is coordinated and delivered in line with current OzHarvest practices, funding commitments, team program delivery KPIs, and project aims.
This includes training and leading the team of QLD Nutritionists and Dietitians to deliver the NEST program successfully across this region. Building and fostering relationships in the community with local charitable agencies and supporters to promote and support the program and OzHarvest. The role also involves the facilitation of the program and management of participants, staff and volunteers engaged with NEST.
To be successful: 2+ years of related experience in the field of nutrition/dietetics.Ability to research, analyse and apply current information on nutrition, food literacy, health education and environmental sustainability.Experience engaging with individuals from low socio-economic areas and may have been exposed to a range of challenging circumstances, environments and situations.Demonstrated ability to deliver small group training workshops.Competent cookery skills and confidence in a kitchen environment.High-level communication and interpersonal skills, including strong written, presentation and verbal skills across phone and email and in person. The ability to communicate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.Experience or strong understanding of nutrition program evaluation – data collection and analysis.Strong proficiency and accuracy in Salesforce, Foodworks, and Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook (including reporting).Role TypeCompany OverviewFounded by Ronni Kahn AO in 2004 after noticing the huge volume of food going to waste, OzHarvest quickly grew to become Australia's leading food rescue organisation.
