About the Role We have an exciting opportunity for a Site Construction Graduate to join the Design and Construction (D&C) team in QLD.
The Site Construction Graduate will play a crucial role in overseeing various aspects of a construction project from inception to completion for upcoming projects in Mackay.
The Site Construction Graduate will assist with day to day operations including planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects whilst liaising with project managers, subcontractors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities Carry out various construction phase tasks as directed by the projected by the Project Manager, including by not limited to; subcontractor and supplier management, collection of critical project information and providing project technical support.
Developed understanding of construction materials, processes and programme requirements.
Understanding of Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Civil and Services design.
Use online project platform – Procore for all project communication, document control and reporting.
Observe and learn construction processes including procurement, ordering, site survey and set out, site office administration and short-term programming.
Understand and apply QHSE procedures, inductions and reporting.
Participate in labouring and aid supervisors.
Observe and participate in onsite tasks including reviewing of materials delivered, receiving and check quality of materials, reviewing and assessing quality of subcontractor installation and workmanship, reading and interpreting drawings, specification and technical information, and finally collection of quality information.
Collect subcontractor QA packages and prepare for client submission Prepare operations and maintenance manuals in line with PPR requirements.
Coordinate and liaise with concrete and reinforcement suppliers Undertake various Project Engineering and Coordination duties including budgeting, programs, purchasing and subcontract tendering and award.
Facilitate Practical Completion process including Project Handover documentation.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Key Stakeholders Coordinate delivery of materials and equipment to ensure timely availability at the site.
Identify and resolve issues or conflicts that arise during construction, such as design changes, material shortages, or unforeseen conditions.
Review project specifications and drawings to ensure compliance with design requirements.
Skills and Experience Computer skills with Microsoft packages (MS Project, Word, Power Point, Excel).
Civil or Structural Engineering Degree or Construction Management.
Current driver's license.
Completion of OH&S Induction Training for Construction Industry Workers (White Card).
Planning and organisational skills to deliver successful projects on time.
Communication and interpersonal skills for developing and maintaining client and subcontractor relationships.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
Attention to detail.
