Role Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Trainee Court Registrar. In this role, you will provide quality administrative and customer service support to the judiciary and court users of the Magistrates' Court of Victoria.
As a Trainee Court Registrar, you will be part of a workforce who facilitate the provision of justice to Victorian communities. You will work in a fast-paced environment and be responsible for supporting the Magistrate with a wide variety of cases.
About the Role
Working as a Trainee Court Registrar:
* You will provide quality administrative and customer service support to the judiciary and court users of the Magistrates' Court of Victoria.
* You will complete an 18-month internal training program to develop your skills and experience across a variety of court processes.
* Once the training program is complete, you can apply to become a Deputy Registrar which may then lead to a wide variety of roles throughout the Magistrates' Court and other jurisdictions.
Main Duties
* Bench clerking in a courtroom, supporting the Magistrate with a wide variety of cases.
* Making announcements and swearing in witnesses.
* Operating a range of complex technology, including facilitating the audio recording of cases and using various case management systems and videoconferencing platforms.
* Liaising with stakeholders such as police officers, legal representatives, and other court users.
* Coordinating the movement of parties within a courtroom environment.
* When performing registrar duties outside of the courtroom, you will assist with various tasks in the registry including:
o Assisting a range of stakeholders with their enquiries via telephone or at the counter.
o Performing a range of administrative tasks.
