With the benefits of a first-class purpose-built hospital and on-site laboratory, our team provides 24-hour specialist care for horses.The CultureOur vision is to be the best at patient care, best at client relationships, and the best place to work.The RoleWe are seeking a part-time internal Medicine Specialist to join our team for the 2024 breeding season and with the potential of ongoing work. The hospital caseload is predominantly neonatal intensive care with 140 foals as well as many peri-partum broodmare and colic cases.You will be primarily responsible for the shared ICU and medicine cases in the hospital, communicating with our Referring Veterinarians and Clients. We have a strong culture of collegial support within our internal medicine team and with our surgeons and hospital based veterinarians. This role would suit someone with an interest in neonatal care and management of critical cases. There is advanced medical diagnostic equipment available, including 2 ultrasound machines (including a new GE Vivid iQ), ECG telemetry, continuous monitoring (ECG, NIBP etc), gastroscope, video endoscopes, digital x-ray, nasal high flow oxygen, ventilator, blood gas analyser, and ophthalmoscopes. Our facility has 9 foal cages with oxygen and multiple fluid pumps, syringe drivers, 24-hour nursing, and foal assistance.
