The Opportunity
We are seeking asuitably qualified and experienced candidate to lead a high performing team anddrive Information Services strategies, governance and improvements that alignwith the strategic direction of the Department.
This role will establish and lead the IS Governanceand Improvement team key deliverables, including the delivery of qualityimprovement initiatives, IS assurance function and compliance programs.
This role also actively drives the development andimplementation of the Directorate’s disaster recovery and continuity plans,using a collaborative and risk-based approach.
Requirements
This role represents an exciting opportunityfor candidates with strong technical expertise and leadership experience orattributes. Additionally, the following key criteria is required:
1. Leadership capabilities to manage a team and foster a culture of technical and professional excellence.
2. Sound knowledge of relevant frameworks, standards and best practices for IS quality assurance and governance.
3. Extensive experience in managing stakeholder engagement in the delivery of complex programs of work.
4. Demonstrated experience in the management of risk and treatment for the success and integrity of operations, arising from the use of information technology and data.
5. Proven experience in the planning, implementation, reporting and tracking of organisation-wide strategies and processes driving improvement, assuring compliance and mitigating risks.
6. Expertise in service continuity planning, relating to the availability, integrity and confidentiality of information systems which support critical business processes.
7. Excellent analytical thinking, and written (formal reports), verbal and presentation communication skills

Qualifications
Atertiary qualification in an IT related discipline is required.
Special Conditions
The successful candidate will be required toprovide a National Police Check prior to employment with the Department.Additional employment checks may be required relevant to the role beingundertaken as outlined in the role statement.
Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
Remuneration
ASO8 - $117,554 to $121,992 per annum
