The Opportunity Melton City Council is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Development Engineer within the Engineering Development team of the City Infrastructure Planning Unit. The Development Engineer will play a significant role in assessing developers funded land development projects to ensure works are designed to Council satisfaction, best industry practices and relevant Australian Standards. Key Responsibilities Review and approval of road and drainage engineering plans and other strategic documents submitted for approval for staged subdivision projects. Evaluation and implementation of engineering aspects of Integrated Water Management systems as part of subdivision projects. Assessment of planning applications referred from the Planning Department in relation to subdivision and development projects. Attendance in the construction Pre-commencement and Practical Completion inspections and other key inspections where required. Conduct investigations and assist in the development of documents, policies and procedures under the guidance of the Coordinator Engineering and Landscape Development. About You To be successful in this role you will have the following: Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline along with some experience in urban developments and engineering design activities. Detailed understanding of engineering road and drainage design, construction techniques and a good knowledge of the town planning and subdivision processes. Proficiency in Engineering software solutions related to the role such as AutoCAD, CIRCLY, PC Convey, MUSIC etc. Well-developed verbal and written communication skills. Current valid Victorian Driver's Licence.
