We are firmly committed to looking after our staff, from safety in the workplace through to professional development, ongoing training, and equal opportunities.About the role:With the company showing continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our Asbestos & Hazardous Materials team in Adelaide to work on our various projects based in South Australia and interstate. Reporting to the Asbestos & HAZMAT General Manager, your primary responsibility will be to oversee project implementation, financial and administrative operations, negotiation, reporting, monitoring and concluding the construction projects providing strategic guidance.This role is a full-time permanent opportunity based in Dry Creek, South Australia with occasional travel to project sites in regional SA and interstate.Responsibilities:Oversee progress reports, staffing/resourcing, financial, schedule, or other adjustments to align the developing project with broader outcome goals.Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.Oversee contract and subcontract management and direct improvements as required.Support the construction project team with effective negotiations with clients as required.Review all commercial notices and variations ensure the best value is achieved through negotiation.Oversee the performance of the project team and be accountable for the development and mentoring of the project teams.Perform a “hands on” approach in leading and managing the project team (including resource availability and allocation) for the effective project delivery to plan, budget and WHSEQ outcomes.Oversee the timely delivery and finances of multiple projects from the pre-construction through to completion, provide improvement directions, value engineering and cost saving solutions.Maintain and ensure all work is of a high standard and compliant with quality control frameworks.Working closely with the Operations and Fleet Manager to ensure all plant and equipment is maintained to a standard that enables continual use on site.About you:To be successful in the role, you must hold Class A and Class B asbestos removal qualifications and the following:Formal qualification in Project Management, Engineering, Finance, or Management.Construction White Card and Current driver’s license.Multi-year experience in HAZMAT and/or Demolition industry.Ability to obtain DCSI and Defence Clearance.Ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol and Fit for work assessment.Competency in Project Management software (e.g., Microsoft Professional Suite, MS Project, Primavera), ERP systems (e.g., Pronto, SAP, Oracle e-business) and project management platforms (e.g., InEight, Aconex, Procore).Experience in leading, managing and motivating teams.Problem-solving and innovative approach and ability to work under pressure.Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and building regulations.Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment with competing priorities.Strong people management skills, including ability to lead by example, build a high performing team and ability to performance manage staff as required.Excellent time management and ability to prioritise work schedules.As an employer who embraces equal opportunity and diversity, we strongly encourage female, Aboriginal, and Torres Strait Islander people to apply.
