About the role
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant, who is highly analytical with an ability to apply initiative in business situations. You are motivated, and passionate about actively contributing to business objectives.
You will be managed by the Finance Manager who will provide support and mentoring in this role.
Your main responsibilities will include
1. Assist and provide analysis in the preparation of high quality, timely financial reporting and balance sheets for the assigned Business Units
2. Assist budgets preparation for the assigned Business Units; working with the department head and General Manager to ensure budgets reflect the business plans
3. Prepare accurate reconciliations for all businesses/Divisions under your ownership, ensuring all back up documentation is correct and present.
4. Month end close including accruals and pre-payments
5. Grant accounting and government project accounting
6. Preparation and submission of BAS and other ATO requirements
Skills and Experience
7. Tertiary qualifications in Accounting
8. CA/CPA is highly desirable
9. Previous experience in a Financial and Accounting role
10. Power BI knowledge, advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
11. Highly organised, efficient with great attention to detail
12. Exceptional communication and interpersonal and relationship management skills
13. Proven experience in ERP (D365 experience is highly desirable but not essential)
