The administration assistant at the Orthotics and Prosthetics Service Tasmania (OPST) plays a vital role in ensuring smooth operations and high-quality patient care. Key duties include scheduling and managing appointments to optimise clinic flow, coordinating with patients to provide updates and address any inquiries, and maintaining accurate patient records. They will also handle essential tasks related to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), including processing claims, assisting with paperwork, and ensuring compliance with NDIS guidelines. Additionally, the administration assistant provides general office support, often managing communications, organising files, and supporting the OPST team in their daily functions.
You will need:
* Demonstrated experience in a reception and administrative role together with well-developed skills in office management and patient information related systems and demonstrated competence in billing procedures and receipting of money for goods and services.
* Demonstrated ability to effectively work without supervision both individually and as a team member within an environment subject to workload pressures and change.
* Strong organisation and follow up skills, together with the capacity to be adaptable and flexible and to monitor and prioritise work in order to meet deadlines.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated capability to cooperate and work well within a small team of health care providers and to show consideration and respect for the cultural diversity that exists within the community.
* An understanding of and ability to contribute to quality improvement activities as they relate to the provision of an administrative and reception support service.
Details of appointment:
Permanent, part time, day worker position, working 45.6 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary:$64,125 to $68, per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
