The Community Fundraising unit works at a grassroots level to engage communities and form sustainable relationships, to ensure growth and sustainability of our fundraising portfolio.About the role:Reporting to the Community Fundraising Lead, this role is responsible for identifying and engaging supporters and community stakeholders, as well as delivering fundraising events to achieve sustainable community fundraising outcomes. The Community Fundraising Coordinator will work closely with the broader local team to ensure our visible and relevant presence in the community and build sustainable relationships to raise funds to improve cancer outcomes. While this role is primarily located at our Cancer Council Wollongong office, some travel will be required to support surrounding communities.This is a full time, permanent role.Key responsibilities of the role:Identify, build and maintain relationships with supporters and key community stakeholders to effectively deliver community fundraising initiatives.Manage and deliver community fundraising events (incl. budgeting, planning and delivery).Support the development of and locally execute operational plans to optimise community fundraising and supporter experience.Monitor local supporter and community fundraising insights to ensure effective and efficient response to challenges and opportunities.Adhere to licensing requirements, risk assessment and financial procedures, issues management policy and other organisational policies and procedures.Collaborate with local team and key internal stakeholders to integrate impact of Cancer Council programs and services into fundraising initiatives.Build and maintain effective working relationships with key roles across M&F and other divisions within the organisation.Recruit, coach and manage volunteers to support Cancer Council in the delivery of community fundraising initiatives.Inspire volunteers through recognition and learning and development opportunities.Include supporters and key community stakeholders in CC engagement, learning and development and fundraising initiatives/opportunities.Identify opportunities to respectfully capture and tell stories of Cancer Council impact in local communities.Perform specific operational tasks related to facilities management, fleet management, Work Health & Safety and/or risk & compliance as requested to support the safe and efficient operation of the office location, fleet vehicles, and/or other assets or services.About you Essential:Demonstrated fundraising experience or experience raising revenue.A sound understanding of relationship management and community engagement.Experience in event management.Ability to provide high level customer service experience.Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.Well-developed organisation and project management skills.Financial acumen and ability to manage community fundraising campaign budgets.Experience in working effectively with volunteers, committees and/or community groups.Ability to work calmly under pressure, work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities across multiple teams.Ability to work as part of a team as well as undertake self-directed work.High level computer literacy in Microsoft Office.Availability for and willingness to travel in and work with all communities across NSW.Work flexible hours (including weekends and evenings).Class C driver’s license.Desirable:Experience in developing the public profile of community-based fundraising initiatives.Understanding of, and commitment to, the charitable sector.Demonstrated understanding of working with priority populations.About the benefitsGenerous salary packaging options that can increase your take home pay by paying certain expenses using pre-tax dollars up to $15,900 a year.Recognised for Voice Project's 2021 and 2023 "Best Workplace" Award.A balanced organisational approach to WFH and office.Additional performance-based leave available.Work for purpose and know that your work fosters an engaged, diverse and culturally aware organisation.Discounts available for everyday expenses such as private health, retail and fitness.CCNSW is an inclusive place to volunteer and work.
